Privacy
Adhan Clock has no accounts, no ads and no analytics. Your location and settings stay on your device. Only the Alexa skill and Google Home linking keep your prayer settings on our server, because they need them to know when to play the adhan.

The web clock
- Your location, calculation settings and adhan choices are kept in your browser's storage on your device.
- Prayer times are worked out on your device. When you tap "Use my location", the browser gives the position to the page, and it stays on the device. City search uses a list built into the page, so nothing is sent while you type.
- Adhans you add are stored on your device. If you paste a link, your browser fetches the file from that site.
- Setting up a screen from your phone: when you press Send on the screen setup page, the choices for that screen (the place, the name on the screen and the display options) are kept on our server under the 6-digit code the screen shows. They can no longer be read after 15 minutes and are deleted soon after (our database removes expired entries within a few days), or straight away when the screen picks them up. To stop abuse, requests are counted under a one-way hash of the IP address for at most an hour. No account and no cookies.
The Android app
- The app shows the same web clock, so everything above applies. It has no account and no tracking.
- Location (approximate): asked only when you tap "Use my location" in the clock. It is passed to the clock page on the device and is not sent to us.
- Prayer times: the clock page hands the app the coming adhan times, which the app keeps on the device to set its alarms.
- Cast devices: the app looks for Nest speakers, Nest Hubs and speaker groups on your home Wi-Fi and keeps the names and addresses of the ones you tick, on the device. It only connects to home-network addresses. At prayer time it asks those devices to play the adhan file from adhanclock.mutaafaziz.com.
- Adhan files are downloaded from adhanclock.mutaafaziz.com and kept in the app's storage so they play with no internet.
- Notifications are used only while an adhan plays and to remind you to open the clock when its times run low.
The Alexa skill
- When you link the skill, our server keeps your coordinates, time zone, calculation settings and adhan choice, and nothing else: no name, email or address. It needs them to work out your prayer times.
- You link the skill by signing in with Login with Amazon. We ask Amazon only for your Amazon user ID, never your name or email, and store just a one-way code made from it so your settings stay with your account. Amazon checks your sign-in each time the skill needs your settings; we do not keep your Amazon sign-in.
- The sign-in keys Adhan Clock gives Alexa are stored only in scrambled (hashed) form. Amazon's sign-in keys, which let us tell Alexa it is prayer time, are stored encrypted.
Google Home
- Linking in Google Home uses the same page and keeps the same settings as the Alexa skill.
- When you unlink Adhan Clock in Google Home, we stop telling Google Home about prayer times.
Hosting
The site and its server functions run on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel receives each request (including your IP address) to serve it, under its own privacy policy. We do not add analytics or advertising. Nothing is sold or shared for advertising.
Deleting your data
- Web clock: clear the site's data in your browser.
- Android app: uninstall it, or clear its storage in Android Settings, Apps, Adhan Clock, Storage.
- Alexa: open adhanclock.mutaafaziz.com/alexa/link, sign in with Amazon and choose Delete my data. We delete your stored settings and Alexa keys at once. Then disable the skill in the Alexa app. If you only disable the skill, we delete your data the next time Alexa tells us the skill is off.
- Google Home: unlink Adhan Clock in the Google Home app.
